Accountant, Senior

Job Description:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting the Controller in preparing statements that follow all regulatory and accounting guidelines, identifying, and preventing discrepancies, and helping to set up control systems. The Senior Accountant partners with the Accounting staff, and internal and external customers, interfaces with the management team, and participates in supporting the total business – including purchasing, collections, customer relations, and operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include and are not limited to:

  • Responsible for all daily accounting activities
  • Review the Company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances.
  • Utilize QuickBooks system to facilitate processes and maintain records.
  • Review Entity Financial month-end Balance Sheet and P&L for accuracy and unrecord transactions.
  • Prepare Designer Monthly Commissions & Goodwill calculation.
  • Support Sales Tax calculation and filing.
  • Receive, review, and process CPH expense reports in accordance with Company policy.
  • Provide support petty cash reimbursement for each showroom.
  • Prepare Collection Report weekly.
  • Prepare Bound Not Contract report. Prepare and send Client Delivery and Final Notice letters.
  • Process accounts receivable daily; work with Designers and Sales team to ensure billing and collections are managed accurately and timely; follow up on past due invoices and receivables. Including Support Cash Receipt and notification.
  • Backup support for approved checks daily – Include verified voucher supporting documentation.
  • Prepare Client Welcome and Warranty letters.
  • Communicate all activities to the Controller.
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

    Requirements:

    Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive Accounting experience
  • Proven experience with Accounts Receivable, Cost Accounting, Intercompany, and Consolidations
  • Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Experience with AIA documents is advantageous
