Quality Associate

Job Description:

The Milford, CT-based client seeks a Quality Associate who is responsible for the development, execution, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS). This position will also be responsible for managing the quality inspectors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help develop, implement, and maintain the company’s quality management system (QMS).
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop and revise QMS documents including quality procedures and work instructions for each operation or process.
  • Provide employee training regarding quality documentation (forms, work instructions, and procedures) and other quality functions.
  • Help develop a robust CAPA / NCR process. The process will ensure that proper root cause analysis, corrective actions, as well as implementation of corrective actions, and an effectiveness check are completed promptly.
  • Work with quality inspectors to inspect products and verify adherence to tolerances and specifications. Develop methods for discrepant materials to ensure proper scrap disposition.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to improve supplier quality.
  • Develop and implement new QC practices on new products.
  • Monitor the cost of quality activities, returns (RMA’s), rejections, scrap, rework, and other associated costs.
  • Responsible for managing and addressing any customer concerns/issues related to quality. This includes a review of product field returns, determination of root cause, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Administer the creation and implementation of PFMEA, process control plans, and poka-yoke opportunities.
  • Administer and monitor the equipment validation and qualification process to ensure compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 3 years of relevant experience
  • Associate degree in a relevant field and 5 years of relevant experience.
  • 10 years of relevant experience in a Quality department role
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate with team members to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Experience utilizing and maintaining a CAPA and NCR system.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing a training system including storage of documents, approval process, and training matrix. Must have the ability to teach/train others
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
