Controller

Job Description:

Our client, a growing leader in the ready-for-assembly precision aluminum source for the aerospace, electronics, medical, and instrumentation industries, seeks to hire a Controller for their New Britain, CT location. They are poised for future growth and continued success with state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and exceptionally short lead times.

Reporting to the President, this position will function as a key role within the management team and have overall responsibility for the company's accounting, finance, and human resource functions.

The Controller Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
o Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive accounting system, including setting up the general ledger, chart of accounts, and accounting policies.
o Oversee the design and build-out of financial processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax compliance.
o Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
o Develop and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
o Partner with leadership to manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
o Ensure seamless integration of financial systems with other business processes and
o Oversee all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with employment laws.
o Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that support a positive workplace culture and align with the company’s strategic objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CPA or CMA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting and finance roles, with a track record of building and leading finance functions.
  • Experience with human resources management and knowledge of HR best practices.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems and experience with systems implementation.
