Fund Accountant
Job Description:
An industry-leading international alternative investment firm in lower Fairfield County (100 feet from the train station) with a long history of delivering solid returns for their institutional clients is adding a Fund Accountant due to growth.
Currently, the company is working 3 days onsite and two days remotely.
The Fund Accountant will interact with several internal departments, providing the incumbent with great exposure and a diverse set of responsibilities. In addition, this position will participate in the designing, planning, and executing oversight programs for such functions as financial reporting, accounting and valuation oversight, expense management, and more.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversight of the preparation, review, and issuance of the annual (and liquidation) Audited Financial Statements
- Maintenance of financial reporting risk assessments and control mappings
- Coordination and responses to internal commercial requests
- Review of the accounting and financial reporting implications of non-standard transactions as well as changes to Fund Governing Documents and Side-letters.
Requirements:
- BS in Accounting
- ~2-3 years of experience in the investment management industry; related Big 4 experience is strongly preferred.
- Applicants will understand hedge funds and fund structures (master/feeder, multi-class, etc.) as well as the activities related to investments, operations, accounting, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
- Support the continuous improvement and enhancement of processes and procedures.
