Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Director of Human Resources. Serving as a business partner and peer to the company’s executive management team, the Director of HR is responsible for overall management and ongoing process improvement of the company’s recruitment function to attract and retain a talented and diverse workforce, as well as broad generalist human resources responsibilities that include administration of existing policies and programs, performance management, and as described below. The position reports to the President & CEO and collaborates closely with our General Counsel/Compliance Officer.

Typical Work Schedule: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (but expected to work early or late as may be needed to meet responsibilities; this is an exempt role)
Position Location: 5 days onsite in Yonkers, NY
Salary Range: $95(k) - $140(k) BOE

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand and meet the company’s staffing goals
  • Source candidates, interview coordination, hiring and onboarding
  • Performance Management
  • Administration of HR programs
  • General HR Administration - Recordkeeping (electronic file management), FMLA, DBL, PFL
  • EEO Compliance
  • 401K Administration
  • Hiring and Turnover Reporting
  • With the guidance of the General Counsel/Chief Compliance Office, responsible for ensuring policies and procedures comply with employment laws and regulations
  • Employee Communications
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities as may be required or assigned

    Qualifications include, but are not limited to:
  • Minimum 10+ years in human resources with management experience, previous HR experience in a similar role.
  • B.A. in Human Resources or relevant field.
  • Familiarity with the Construction industry - a plus.
  • Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Recruitment, candidate selection, and candidate management - LinkedIn, and alternate hiring sources including college recruitment.
  • Experience with hiring, onboarding, off-boarding, performance management, leave management, workforce diversity goals and equal employment opportunity, and training and professional development.
  • Knowledge of evaluating and negotiating benefits.
  • Benefits administration.
  • Elevated level of commitment to organizational ethics, integrity, confidentiality, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Social media experience a plus.
  • Must provide acceptable proof of identification and authorization to work in the US.
